Just in case anybody was thinking about buying directly into the WSOP ME I figured Id share how I bought my seat for a discount.

Pokerstars is allowing players to buy-in through them to the WSOP ME if they agree to wear their gear. You can pay for this with $W. In the twoplustwo mtt community forum there is a marketplace where you can buy $W at a discount. I bought my 10k for 9500. So Im effectively buying my seat for $9500. I made a post that I was buying at 95% of value and had 5 msgs within 24 hours for people trying to sell the $W at that price so I imagine if you played hardball you could get it for cheaper

But wait, it doesnt stop there...by doing this your eligible for all of the benefits the satelite winners get...including the 1M bonus for winning, 1M freeroll as well as the 100,000VPP points which is worth around $1000 in itself if you use it for a bonus, as well as instantly making you a supernova increasing the worth of every hand you play for the rest of the year. It also allows me to get to the 200,000 VPP points this year for the $2000 milestone bonus they have.

So all in all, I think doing it this way rather then just paying the RIO 10k is going to save me at least 2k.

Either way it is cheaper than buying in direct, if you have the 100k in FPPs then it makes it that much sweeter.

Seriously, aside from playing satellites, buying a package with bonuses seems to be the best option for Canadians who have their heart set on buying into the Main Event despite the 30% withholding tax. I just found out myself that Palladium Lounge members of PartyPoker have the option to sell their WSOP package. I thought of the ReefAquarium option of selling my package since I don't have a $1 million bankroll, but the nice bonuses that come along with a package (e.g., $200K Leaderboard Challenge and 7+ nights hotel suite) won't let me sell it for much less than $10K.

For those who have their hearts set on buying into a $1,500 WSOP event, I noticed a couple of PartyPoker players who want to sell their $5,500 "Vegas Experience" package which includes a $1,500 seat, airfare, hotel, etc.
