Hmm...so, anyone thinking on going to this? I am thinking this would be a perfect vacation/birthday get away for the wife and I. She can drink and play in the sun, and I can play cards..
Anyone know when the schedule usually comes out? Always 2nd week of January?

I was at the PCA this year. The only thing that stops this from being the ultimate poker vacation is the weather. Sometimes it can be crappy in January. For most of this year's trip, it was close to 80 but a couple days it rained and was in the 60s. Not great beach weather. Some years I heard the weather was really awful.
The poker is unbeatable. More cash games than any major casino in Vegas and minimal wait times. All levels of action and tournaments in all price ranges. I think the cash games stop at 4am each night and get started around noon.
Atlantis is probably one of the best resorts in the world and the casino is pretty decent as well. Food is very $$$ on Paradise Island.

Ive been 2 out of the last 3 years, and it is beyond amazing. Both times Ive had an awesome time, the poker is out standing there. A lot of tables are running, sngs, cash games, tourneys. The Sngs are pretty weak too, and if your lucky youll get a table of people that will do some last longer bets, juices the pot up a bit haha.
Weather isnt always great, but I spend most of my time at the poker table anyways, so having 5 good days of weather is good enough for me haha

Is the 5% max $10 rake beatable? That rake is pretty brutal.

Yes, IMO | Max $5 rake works out to about $35,000 a year.
You must make over $100,000 a year to beat a $20 rake.
That's a lot of money to me. I'd rather see that money in my pocket.
If you're a bored billionaire, $$$ six figures doesn't matter.

Found a 3 bdr house 10 min. from Paradise, with a rental van and elec. scooter included for 2500 usd/wk (6 persons). I don't think that is terrible there is it? Atlantis seems crazy expensive.

What a year..lol...after a series of events that led to not being able to make it...looks like I have time now but already spent the loot (possibly..lol..waiting on the bank)...That being said..gonna try to grind some sats this weekend to get in. I am due for some run good.
In the 700 qualifier right now..2 pkg's guaranteed. Not all that happy with monk352 and assassinato both immediately to my left...
