Other Tourneys during WSOP

I did not see this posted yet, so I thought that we could start a thread for other large events during WSOP.

The Venetian has put out their Deepstack schedule and Binions has announced their Poker Classic.

The Venetian Deepstack Extravaganza 2011, 5-27-2011 to 7-15-2011

Binions Poker Classic 2011, 5-30-2011 to 7-11-2011

Golden Nugget, The Grand poker event, from 6-04-2011 to 7-04-2011

http://www.caesarspalace.com/casinos...11-detail.html

Also, per the WSOP page, the Rio will be holding their daily tournaments from May 30 - July 16. I will look for structure sheets for these daily tournies.
$235 Buy-In No-Limit Hold'em tournaments Daily at 2PM
$185 Buy-In No-Limit Hold'em tournaments nightly at 6 PM
$135 Buy-In No-Limit Hold'em tournaments nightly at 10PM.

Added the Golden Nugget event... looks like a good mix of games and will interest those that want some PLO and Stud events.

Obviously all of the deepstack and WSOP events are Skill Level 6, but I thought that I would crunch a few numbers to look at the Blind Off time and Patience factor to provide a guide to the value of your buy-in at some of these tournaments.

I did a quick double check, so I think the numbers are right...

I used live play assumptions of 20 minutes per orbit and 10 players per table. Also note that for the non-WSOP events, I made an assumption that a player would purchase the small-fee dealer bonus chips.

Buy-in, Starting Chips, Blind Time (min), Blind-off Time (hrs), Patience Factor

WSOP Events
$1.0k 3,000 60 5.36 28.77
$1.5k 4,500 60 6.21 38.62
$2.5k 7,500 60 7.41 54.80
$10k 30,000 120 13.27 176.17

Venetian DSE
$340 12,000 40 5.29 27.99
$550 15,000 40 5.70 32.49
$1,070 15,000 60 7.42 55.1

Binions Classic Classic
$150 12,000 35 4.30 18.5
$200 15,000 35 4.69 21.99

Golden Nugget Grand Series
$225 12,000 40 5.21 27.17

What is this patience factor? I'm guessing the bigger number means more patience? How are you calculating it?

The Patience Factor is the blind-off time squared. If the blind-off time is 5 hours, then the PF = 5 X 5 = 25. The concept is that since blinds are continually escalating, differences between tournament blind-off times are not linear, but exponential.

The higher the PF, the more selective you can be in entering pots, playing hands from various positions and altering your style of play.
