WSOP / WPT / EPT DiscussionThis section is for discussing major online poker tournaments such as the WSOP, EPT, WPT, WSOPE, LAPT, APPT and any others you can think of. Planning to go or looking for satellites online of offline? Discuss here.
I won a $1500.00 seat at a local satellite tournament in Barrie this week. It will be under contract to the other players for 25%. I have not picked the event yet.
Can we keep this a read only unless you have a seat and want to post it so that we can keep track of forumer that are playing.
Event 49 - $1500.00 - June 28

Don't quote me on this...but there might be a chance that the DSE ME is going to be turned into a NAPT stop.
As far as WSOP - probs just the ME for now if I can satellite in, and if not I think I'll be down there anyways so I'll probs play the live satellites at the Rio, or play some DSE events. Might try to sneak down for a weekend in June to play a $1500 event but that will probably be a last minute decision.
One of the following two, depending when I fly down:
Tuesday June 29, Venetian DSE III $550 or
Wednesday June 30, Venetian DSE III $2100
plus
Friday July 2, WSOP Event #56, $2500
Rest of the time, just cash games.
Damn... might have to change my plans... I lead a tech team that is making several system changes to support the new HST business rules for a large company... now my VP is not sure if I can be away around July 1 when it officially kicks in, in case their are issues to resolve... I need a plan to convince him that I am not needed!
Friggin McGuinty messing up my poker plans! I may have to try to go down earlier in June.... I may miss WSOP but just play DSE events. Will try to re-plan over the next week or so.
After much soul-searching I've decided to try my hand in the "old folks" world championship again this year (June 18). Hopefully I can last a little longer than last year (knocked out shortly after the first break).
I met Compuease while I was down there (thankfully I avoided any "last longer" prop bets with him). If you read this, Jeff, let me know if you'll be in the Seniors' again this year.
I plan on playing one or two DS's at the Venetian as well. Good luck to all who play in the WSOP this year.

Welcome back to the "dark side" Brian... lol, haven't decided if I will do it again this year or not... 2700 runners is just so many to beat..
Undoubtably I could cash in one of these some day, just not sure if I have enough years on the green side of the sod for the + side of variance to kick in. Have thought of going back to Vegas in June but primarily to play Nugget ot Binions events... Little more manageable, likely 2-300 runners... Also a lot cheaper at $200-250 apiece.. vs $1K for the Seniors WSOP. Now if somebody wanted to buy a good % of me I would consider it...

OK, seriously thinking of Vegas, June 15-22 or 23rd, play the Nugget seniors on the 16th, either Binions or Nuggets NL event on the 17th, then IF I cash significantly in either of those play the WSOP seniors on the 18th. If I don't play the WSOP seniors I would continue to play Binions and Nugget events each day... Really interested in the PLO8 at Nugget on the 18th, the limit O8 at the Nugget on the 19th and the PLO8 at Binions on the 21st. All are $200.-$230 buyins with good structures.
So is there anyone else besides Gogie in Vegas at that time?
Highly leaning towards flying out July 1 evening or July 2 morning after a friend's wedding and tentatively coming back July 7. Might have enough backers to play ME without winning a seat..
I'm actually going to be down from May 27th to June 10th so I'm going to try out a few of the early events. I'm looking at events #3,8, 12 and possibly events #5 and 13 depending on whether or not I'm still alive in events 3 and 12 respectively. Gonna take a shot at a few ME satellites as well. Playing it by ear mostly.
