Nothing wrong with flat calling a small-ish raise with JJ in PL I think. You can play JJ like an implied odds hand.
Lots of people *hate* JJ, but I'm getting to like it's dual-nature more and more. In terms of varying your pre-flop play in PL/NL, this is a great hand to do so with. Quote:
I bet out $3
the BB raises to $6 the pre flop raiser calls and one other player calls
back to me. I reraise the pot which puts all remaining players all in.
Is this the correct thing to do? I certainly feel like I have the best hand at the moment but my concern is that at least one player has the flush draw and will not fold on the flop but may fold on the turn if they miss the draw. Should I just call the extra $3 and then bet the pot if no diamond drops on the turn or did I play it correctly.
| I certainly agree with betting out on the flop. Re-raising the maximum on the flop here is how I would have played it.
I like sometimes using the "wait until the turn" move. This move has considerably more punch if you're playing NL when you can overbet the pot on the turn. You can't do this in PL by definition.
Your opponents' stacks sound small enough that even if you set them in after a turn brick, they still might not be able to get away from the hand.
