I actually find the capped games harder to beat and more frustrating. Checking my stats I'm a big winner at all levels of PLO uncapped and a mild loser at cap plo$1 and $.50 -- I tend to only go down to those games when I feel the tilt coming on, so maybe that's part of the reason, I dunno.

Graham...

"Small hand, small pot. Big hand, big pot" - you just got it all in (effectively) with an overpair in OMAHA.

Yes, although the villain did ultimately "suck out" as much as you can call it "sucking out" in Omaha. I think you overplayed your hands. Just something to think about.

In capped PLO where you can only get 40BB into a pot...jam jam jam is probably the best way to play these type of hands.

Over pair in PLOM is about the equivalent of 2nd - 3rd pair in NLHE IMO....

Look at the first hand.. flop is 6-10-3 rainbow, now he bets out the pot. This is not a draw-y board, but he gets called anyways. So on the turn - with only an overpair - he bets the pot / all-in? Anyone floating that flop looks to be sitting there with at WORST a wrap straight, but likely a set. Now, obviously this guy's a donkey having called with his underpair / gutshot combo, but Graham didn't say anything about history of the player. If the guy had a wrap straight + say a pair of 10's, he has 16 outs twice --> You a dog (if he had say 7-8-9-10).

The second hand, he bets again, bets the flop again, and is against the same donkey who obviously will draw to flushes / gutshots, and then on the turn, both straights and flushes get there, so he bets out again.... sure.. it was only $26 in a pot that was now $108, but still, even 4:1 with an overpair? bad move.

So you are check-folding these hands on the turn/river?

Well

Further thought... pot bets on the flop are unnecessary, they're too big, committing yourself to calling with sub-standard hands. If the pot is say $36 out of a maximum of $160, any pot-sized bet that is called is really committing yourself (36*3 - 108/160). Making it a $26 call. With the first hand, $21 bet that is called makes it a $63 pot, which is escapeable, but then he bets himself All-in with just one pair again?

Now, switch it around, (i'll just use hand #2). He bets pot PF, sure... fine. On the flop, where there are straight and flush draws, you're facing a potential 12 outs... he's not likely to go anywhere anyways. If he has only one or the other, a 1/2 pot bet takes the odds away, and only swells to pot from $36 to $72. On the turn, where ALL the draws get there, he can now check to see the river, or fold to a turn / river bet that would put him all in (which would be $44).

Discussion is ridiculous for a capped game with no reads on the players -- both of these hands are extremely read dependent post flop, period. There is no standard play in either case without reads. If I just sat in these games I would never commit my effective stack with these hands post flop, but after playing several orbits vs the right player I would always do it.
