i think the theory behind this, is avoid turning your hand into a bluff and lose a big pot.
and take the donkies to value town when you limp in cheap, and +EV.
say 1/2NL live
Donky that call a raise, will call your 3bet (they just don't understand what 3bet mean)
say. flop is rag
are you going to cbet it?
if i make 3bet with AK, and miss the flop. i'll cbet it 1/3 of the time.
if you got 1+ caller, turn is blank.
Donky can caught a pair or small PP or two over card
what do you do?
QQ on BB
you 3bet it. got 3+ caller
flop come XX A or XX K
what do you do?
you make a cbet. got at least 1 caller
which is capable to call you with bottom pair, but AXs or KXs is well into donk's range.
what do you do?
regardless, it's expensive and highly variance when donky will determine to see the flop, and if there is any draws, pair, two over, they'll call to the end.
why not just limp or call to see flop, and take them to value town.
