from $100 to $10,000, the Meistro and payperview story

User payperview has decided to invest $100 USD into my online gambling and so I have started this thread in order to have a transparent record of the stake as well as to enable feedback from my backer and the pokerforum community more broadly.

$100 stars stake business plan :

My plan is to play .02/.05 PLO on Stars. With 20 buy ins in my bankroll, as well as a plan to move down to .01/.02 @ $50, I think I can keep ROR at a fairly low level. I intend to play 2-9 handed games, with a focus on 2-3 handed games, but I will no doubt end up playing a decent amount of 4-9 handed as well, if previous stakes have been any indication. My general game plan tight and aggressive, although tight is a relative term especially in a 2-3 handed game. If it is heads up I will usually be opening fairly liberally unless my opponent is auto three betting. But I digress. By game selecting well, studying my opponents, entering more often in better position and / or with better cards than my opponents I should be able to consistently win money. I look forward to blogging about this experience here and hopefully I can reward my backer's trust with some profit.

I imagine throughout the next week I will play at least 6 hours a day. I have a very crude estimate of a $5 per day win rate, but of course the variance always massively overshadows the EV in the short term.

Playing 5-6 handed would be the best way to do this...full ring sucks and you are super under-rolled to play shorthanded properly

okay I am just about to begin my first session here. Before starting I restricted myself to $10 buy in big bet. I put don't play on fixed limit, tournaments and SNGs. The reason why I put big bet $10 instead of big bet $5, which I will be playing, is because it takes 8 days from now before I can increase my limits again, so just in case I win 30 buy ins over the next 5 days and we want me to move up to 5 cent 10 cent, we won't have to wait 3 days.

I thought this hand was a little interesting. The BB is a fish but I don't have any real line on his play just yet. Complete would have been my second choice.

results of initial morning session :

    143 hands, +3.54

I was actually at +11 but I lost two hands, one AA in a 4 bet pot, flop came ugly JT8, but we had roughly 1.5 SPR and I had a gutty so I got it in, he had KJ87 and turned boat held. The other one I make slightly loose call with okay queens in SB vs button open 3 to flop single raised. flop top set, bet two calls, turn comes straight and flush, I check, BB pots, button calls, so 3:1 to me I'm roughly 3:1 to 3.5:1 against making my boat, with still $5 left to bet on the river and very good implied odds vs these two players so ez call but I brick the boat and fold the river they both had small flushes.

all in all a good start

So we haven't talked yet about what to do with rakeback. As platinum star I get about 20-23% rakeback in starscoin. Unless my backer has any objection I am going to just treat this like any other winnings and convert it to cash whenever through the pokerstars store.

The USD, EU, and GBP tables offer an opportunity for 'tweaking' buy in limits.

the respective exchange rates to CAD are as follows :

    1.28
    1.45
    1.82

You can see that GBP is almost half again as much as USD. Therefore we can say that I need 30 buyins or $150 usd or 192.62 CAD to play .02/.05 GBP.

    1 euro = 1.13 usd so i need 23 or 115 usd or 147.67 cad to play .02/.05 euro.

    Sounds good.

Does anyone fold at that limit? Only the 1 guy dig, after your 4 bet preflop, and it was 223 flop. In addition how the **** do you run up to $110 when max NI is $5.00,

I know right! I couldn't believe it when I saw how many buyins that guy had. And he's a total whale too, that's the best part. Sadly he got annoyed after that hand where he folded the flop after 6 betting pre and left one hand later. The games are definitely pretty juicy.
