$60 Live MTT

I have a tough time deciding in these spots, and I don't really know the "correct" play, which is why im posting....

Hero is cut-off with 4300
Villian is high-jack. 6000, hasn't shown many hands other than a set, has been fairly tight approx. 2 hands per round.

blinds are 150/300

UTG limps for 300

Villian raises to 1000

Hero = KcQd

Hero??

I figure this is either a ship or fold situation. Even without the slight read on villian, whats your move?

Your M is 9, you have a UTG limper, and a raiser, this is a fold

You will get a much better spot to get involved in the 9 rounds your stack still has. It is not worth getting involved with the player you described, especially with nothing invested and being either dominated or have a coin flip at best.

k i think this is an issue with 'the gap theory' but i might have the name wrong.

what im talking about is in abc poker each seat has a set range you should play and the seat before it should have a tighter range. you can assume each player plays this way and then adjust from there.

under the gun limps so you can expect his range to be wide and if your in position you can call or raise if your first in. but when someone before your position raises you have to assume they have a tighter range from from an earlier postion. kqo becomes a fold because gap theory says its not good enough vs the earlier player's range....

now you could adjust it by saying hes wide cause the limper, or maybe he does this to much, or raises to much, or say you have edge etc. but if you weren't sure you can always just say 'gap theory' i fold.
