i regularly call smaller pocket pairs from any position if im confident i won't have to call another raise. i do this knowing that generally i will take all someones chips if i hit my set. is this to loose though, do i have to match it up with pot odds?
ive read book on both sides of the coin for this one....furthermore i'm quite interested in how the average player plays....and ill tell you something....with attitudes like this...im gonna bury you guys by the end of this year....

I hope so!
But you didnt really ask a question. So there isnt much to talk about, aside from obvious rhetorical questions.
Should an average player setmine?
Is setmining profitable?
Should I be appliying odds to setmine?

damn with that attitude i might not catch up.....my question comes from reading in one book that, knowing how much implied odds there are, it doesn't really matter whats in the pot preflop, and in another i read you want to have like 6 other bets in for every one of yours kinda thing....whats your take on that?
The norm for me, is usually as long as both I, and the original raiser or bettor have 15-20x bet/raise size in our stack I will try to mine..if for some crazy reason there is 7-1 in the pot already..yeah, I will play as well...That being said, small pairs play different than big pairs (obv). Anything including and above J's I am typically betting for value..this is probably lighter than most..that is mostly early/middle game..late game, dynamics change and it becomes much more situational..
In some circumstances I might flat 77 when I shouldn't...lmao
