Bet more on the turn...

Pot's 1360, you want to try and commit him here, but his stack's too big unless he plays back. Best bet is to inflate the pot enough so that you can make a good sized value bet on the river that he'll have to call. He has put in 640, leaving him with 5288. If you bet closer to 800-900, and he calls, he's now at 4388, and the pot's at 3160. This lets you put a bet of about 1500 on the river out, giving him 3:1 odds to call, and if he decides to play back like he did, he's putting it all in.

I don't mind the line.

I agree with above of getting a bit more in on the turn, get him to commit more chips to the river bluff.

His line screams like "I have a pair" (~88 ) and maybe the outside of chance of the nutflush draw. You may be able to minraise on the river, but doubt he calls.

The FD is really the only hand that makes sense for him to have here. He's taking the free showdown if he has 8s any day.

Do you guys really think I should bet bigget on the turn then? It just feels like my line becomes so strong if I do that and he's gonna fold a ton of hands. Thought it might be fun to rep the 2 instead of the 7. Don't really see how he's gonna commit on the turn since he rarely has half a hand
