2+2 Book Offer Recommendations

I am finally getting around to doing the 2+2 book offer and was wondering if anyone has recommendations for the three free books from section B. I will likely get The Mathematics of Poker (God knows I need it ) but not sure about which other two books are decent. I prefer no limit or poker theory books. Any books to stay away from?

IMO do a similar offer through pokersourceonline and get an amazon.ca gift card to buy the same books. Should be some offers for $100 or so. Are you looking more for cash games/sngs/mtts?

thanks, I have already done that offer. Cash games is first preference followed by MTT. I think this offer is a lot easier to achieve with only having to play one raked hand and receiving five books, including the Sklansky and Harrington books I was planning on buying anyways.

lol didn't realize the steep playing requirements, nice. Wow selecting from that list of oldies. I would have to go with the Lee Jones winning low limit holdem. No idea what my 3rd choice would be.

Which site has the one raked hand requirement? I don't see it.

apparently, you only need to play one raked hand or tournament on Everest to qualify for the book offer, and deposit a minimum of $50US. Seems like a sweet deal. So I guess I am not the only one that has missed this great offer.

Def Mathematics of Poker and Winning Low-Limit Hold'em if you don't have it yet. Have heard a few good things about Mason's Poker Essays though.

thanks for the recommendations.

Can anyone confirm my understanding of this offer of only needing to play one raked hand or one SnG, with minimum $50 deposit.

don't waste your time with books, jimmy. it's all luck anyway. fold those aces preflop and you'll do fine. stay in school, man.

very nice synopsis; you might want to save a couple chips for later tonight in case you want one of those $1.25 waters. btw, I now only fold aces on the flop after my continuation bet is raised

I did post briefly about this great offer, but since it was through another poker forum, I thought it was appropriate to discuss it in detail in that forum instead of Graham's. Since Graham doesn't mind, I can confirm that as a value-maximizing player, I made my first-ever real money deposit online because of the 2+2 and Everest offer. Here are the benefits I got:

- Played one raked cash game hand and later chose my five free books after my eligiblity was confirmed. I received the following books promptly in time before my WSOP trip: Harrington on Cash Games Vol. 2, Theory of Poker; Poker Essays, volumes 1-3.

- Won my first three freeroll (non-NLHE) SNGs, even though anybody who has paid attention at all the Royal Cups knows that I am a at Limit HE and Pot Limit Omaha. However, I stopped playing these +EV freerolls since as a $2/5 NL live player, I don't see the point of spending that much time trying to win 5¢-15¢.

- Won most of my cash games, but I also couldn't see the point of playing micro limits online when it's easier to win more money at any live game. My $50 deposit is currently up more than 50%, but I can win more than that in one pot in any B&M cardroom.

- Luckily for me, Everest turned out to paradoxically be the sponsoring site for the WSOP, even though they cannot have any US players. They had a members-only hospitality lounge in the WSOP area, where they had free food, drinks, video games, and best of all, free Internet PCs which I made full use of whenever I was at the Rio.

- Of the five party invitations I managed to get for Las Vegas, Everest hosted the "Most Exclusive Party" at the Pure nightclub in Caesars Palace. My roommate wasn't interested in going to any party, so I gave an extra ticket to westside8 and we celebrated the Fourth of July with an open bar, free exotic food, sexy waitresses unlike the ones in the poker room, live music, and a great view of one of only two fireworks shows in Las Vegas that night. The fireworks was supposed to start at 9:30 but unfortunately for me, it started earlier before I could rejoin westside8 at Pure.

To pokerJAH, we could borrow each other's books just like I do with pkrfce9. I can lend you The Mathematics of Poker (which I do NOT recommend for you to start with) along with my many other great books if you get the following books that I don't have:
- Professional No Limit Hold'em (great cash game book for 1/2 players)
- Sit and Go Strategy (how to become a satellite king)
- Section "B" books: any three poker books except the Poker Essays volumes which you can borrow from me.

It currently doesn't make sense for me to go to Georgetown, but I'll probably see you and a couple of otherl forumers at the other place tonight.
