You may have unrealistic expectations of what winning is. For example, the very best cash game players win 6-8bb per 100 hands, that's it. That is not a huge margin at all.
Say you can play 1000 hands a night at .25/.50 - that would be an average of $60-$80 in profit per night. But that's an average of the very best players. You may be at 3-4bb per 100 hands, so only $30-$40 a night. That is an average, some nights will be better some will be worse, you will have huge swings either way.
A good STT player can make 20% ROI over a long period of time (and that may be high) so playing $5 SNGs, you would need to play over 100 (an hour each) to make $100.
There are players that can make money playing online poker but they know its the volume of play that makes them money, not one session or two but the tens of thousands of hands they can play a month.
You need to look at your results over a long period of time (10,000 plus hands) before you can come to a meaningful conclusion about your play.
