Blind structure

I could use some advice. All this talk about no rake satellites has me wanting to host a private one with my friends. I want a good game with time to play, not some bogus low skill level turbo crap shoot.

a) If I was hosting a no limit Hold'em tournament and I wanted the game to last between 4~6 hours what starting chip qty and blind structure would fit my needs for 16 people?

b) Same question for 12.

c) Same question for 8.

Looks fine for a home game. That Skill Level 6 structure will have around 6-7 hours of playing time, plus breaks. I wish you would be hired as the tournament director by the poker clubs and casinos who only have waste-of-time crapshoots!

Think it would still be good if you eliminated the 25/25 level and just started at 25/50. Just my nickel . . .

Ya I will have to shorten it a bit I think, but not much. Removing the 25/25 would be a good start.

There have been blind schedules with no antes posted before so you can just copy those. In general, you want the cost per round to increase 25%-100% every round.

You could do a sunday million style tourney with 10k chips blinds starting at 25/50 - increase every 30 minutes maybe.

a much better structure than the local casino where i am. They do fine the first hour of play when there are re-buys. But then it turns into a turbo with the blinds doubling every 20 minutes.
