Bluff's reply that they had "advertiser issues" is probably bullshyte. The problem they're having is that morons like Esfandiari and Laak are losing interest in being "tied down" as contributors. Not only are they usually writing fluff pieces that no one cares about, (if I see one more column about Antonio's life being nothing but comps and freebies for a very mediocre poker player, I'm gonna puke...) but they are also constantly asking for "extensions" and even missing deadlines. They've both said so themselves in many of their columns. Thank God Jennifer Tilly realized she is a TERRIBLE poker player and gave up her column to pursue acting again....(let's face it, soft core B movies are definitely her forte)
I was gonna subscribe to Bluff, but they're going the same way as Avery Cardoza's PLAYER magazine. That magazine started out so strong with, good lookin' chicks, strategies and how to's, and then they "jumped the shark" with the Valderama issue. It was nothing but fashion and gadgets that no one could ever afford, and not a SINGLE COLUMN about ANY type of game play. I cancelled my subscription to that one with a well worded email, and they replied back that they had to go in "another direction" to stay competitive.
With who...GQ?
