Bluff Magazine distribution delay?

I received a one-year subscription as a Christmas gift (and a subscription confirmation card mailed to the correct address around Jan. 3).

Having not yet received my first issue, I e-mailed their customer service on Mar. 17 to ask what the deal was. Mar. 18 they e-mailed back saying the March issue was running late but was "on the way". It's now been over 3 months since they were paid, and I still haven't received .

Anyone else here have a subscription? Have you received the March issue yet? I know they're a huge mag (pokerwise anyway), but I'm starting to wonder if they are going tits up.

Bluff Magazine has improved a lot in the past year.

Still, I'd say it's even money if they last another year.

Found a similar complaint re: late delivery of the January through March issues on another (well known) poker forum on the web. Someone purporting to be a Bluff Magazine staff member answered:

"Hello all. The reason that we're slightly behind schedule right now is that a few of our advertisers had issues getting ad copy in on time over the holidays. This caused a 2 week bottle neck that we're slowly brining back on pace. We apologize for the inconvenience."

Two week delay three months ago = March issue delivered in April (maybe)? Usually magazines ship May or June issues in April.

Well I haven't because they mention up to 6 weeks for delivery and we are only at week 3-4.

Thumbs down

Bluff's reply that they had "advertiser issues" is probably bullshyte. The problem they're having is that morons like Esfandiari and Laak are losing interest in being "tied down" as contributors. Not only are they usually writing fluff pieces that no one cares about, (if I see one more column about Antonio's life being nothing but comps and freebies for a very mediocre poker player, I'm gonna puke...) but they are also constantly asking for "extensions" and even missing deadlines. They've both said so themselves in many of their columns. Thank God Jennifer Tilly realized she is a TERRIBLE poker player and gave up her column to pursue acting again....(let's face it, soft core B movies are definitely her forte)
I was gonna subscribe to Bluff, but they're going the same way as Avery Cardoza's PLAYER magazine. That magazine started out so strong with, good lookin' chicks, strategies and how to's, and then they "jumped the shark" with the Valderama issue. It was nothing but fashion and gadgets that no one could ever afford, and not a SINGLE COLUMN about ANY type of game play. I cancelled my subscription to that one with a well worded email, and they replied back that they had to go in "another direction" to stay competitive.
With who...GQ?

Sad
