so I am thinking of trying cash games, I have started last night at 5nl, 1st 2 sessions(if you cAll them that have come out like even), what are the basics?
I want position on calling stations and lags right?
what kind of tables should a tag like me look for as to how many players to the flop etc etc
In general I think cash is a waste of time and with my luck prob not a good idea but just something I am throwing around
cash tables are a thing of variance. while im also TAG in SnG's and tourneys, you will get eaten alive and not get maximum +EV on your bets as better players like me will see right through you and not call even value bets.
LAG and good luck can prove very profitable, but the swings take a toll on a players brain.

good cause that was total bs....
Keep it simple (no fancy play syndrome). Don't assume people are making moves on you (better to do bad fold than bad call).
Position on the lags is kinda big but I don't think low limit table selection is that huge of a deal since so many tables are so soft. Looser the better imo.

Take notes!
This.
From 5nl to 25nl and even some 50nl you're gonna want to just play solid ABC TAG. You'll rarely want to bluff since no one folds at these levels so you will get called down a lot with bottom pair (which is a good thing and a bad thing). Play your position. It is incredibly easy to steal blinds at these levels as most players don't defend. Also, are you going to be playing 6max or full ring? If 6max you're gonna be playing looser than normal, but with full ring it gives you more time to play patiently. I would definitely recommend reading the Harrington on Cash series as well. Great advice in those books and will definitely get you on your way to developing a profitable style at the cash tables. If you can't get the books and don't mind a pdf file I could hook you up.
