It is incredibly easy to steal blinds at these levels as most players don't defend. Also, are you going to be playing 6max or full ring? If 6max you're gonna be playing looser than normal, but with full ring it gives you more time to play patiently. I would definitely recommend reading the Harrington on Cash series as well. Great advice in those books and will definitely get you on your way to developing a profitable style at the cash tables. If you can't get the books and don't mind a pdf file I could hook you up.

thanks, a pdf file may take too much of your time as it would be what 300 pages and i don't want to pull you away from your pokeeee.

Oh yes it is 6 max I play, Is it not like 6 players to every flop in full ring? lololol

Man, I would love to get a sweat group. But, I've been doing poker all by myself.

Anyways, I knew someone who only played SNGs because he could never figure out a way to make money on the micros. But ring games is where the money is at. I think at the 5NL level, you want to play solid tight poker. Any 3 bet preflop, you are probably no good and should fold. As other said, don't over analyze and think that people are bluffing you.

I don't think position at these tables or finding good tables is that important at these stakes. You should be able to handle any situation at these stakes.

Just keep playing, you will figure it out.

I actually already have the pdf files on my computer. I downloaded a huge folder of poker books a while back and they were included. All I would have to do is upload it.

Thanks guys, this has been a very bad weekend, just not in poker but in life, so may not touch the cash tables today,lol

For poker wise, still can't win a race or hit a flop, what did I do to deserve all this bad luck?

So good time to read above link!

Don't necessarily agree with your first comment, but yea, table selection isn't AS important. Still, if you want to get better, practice table selection on the micro's.

If anyone wants to start a sweat group for micro's here, my Skype is str82ace

Turn bet is a bit too weak with a flush out there, but it did the trick.

my quick advice:

- play most pairs 22-JJ up to 1/12 of your stack (assuming the raiser has you covered)
- QQ - AA raising and more raising
- play Ax suited and suited connectors in late position so you can see lots of flops; raise with them once in a while;
- AK/AQ - raise in position and mix up raising/calling in early position; I'm not a big fan of A10 or AJ unless suited. Will play them once in a while if I can see a flop for cheap;
- don't fall in love with dangerous hands like KJ, K10, QJ. they can cost you a lot of money.
- play your made hands aggressively, i.e don't let other player(s) catch up.. bet your hands accordingly;
- don't fall in love with over pair or TPTK; if you are getting a lot of aggression from another player, you are probably beat.
- mix up your game; some times check with big pairs, AK, etc. and if you miss the flop, move on
- most importantly, have fun!!

- side note - suited connectors really make you a lot of money in this game when they hit. Also, always consider stack sizes when making a decision to raise/call/fold

Finding ways to win small pots can be pretty fun. Open a wide range from the button/CO if the blinds like to flat and fold to cbets frequently, same thing for people limping too much and folding flops.

Also, always open 89s from first position ^^'
