With small to medium pockets (22 to 88), I use a Call20 rule. If there's a raise in front of me, I'll call if both of us have 20x the raise or more in our remaining stacks. That way, when you do hit your set, you stand a good chance to double up. Avoid set mining against short stacks...not profitable at all.

With 22, 33, 44, if I'm in EP, and first to act, I'll often fold these, depending on the players behind me. 55+ first in, I'll often raise. If I get reraised, I'll re evaluate.

Always play with a full stack. Set the auto top up if you can. Avoid playing with a stack less than 75% of maximum.

If you have a HUD, use it and use it all the time. Learn to rely on it when you have to make a difficult decision. Also, review your own hand histories periodically (weekly if possible). If you don't have a tracking program yet, get one.

Learn to cbet properly. Play position. Punish limpers in position. Steal blinds whenever possible. Steal the button when you can. Destroy loose short stackers, but be very leary on tight short stackers.

oh, and don't bluff.

I think there is a separate thread on this 20 rule; I play a little less tight.

Full stack is definitely the way to go. If my stack goes below 80BB, I reload to 100BB right away. 99% of players don't do this;

I don't bother with stealing blinds w garbage. A lot of players figure this is the case and will either re-raise you or make a continuation bet on the flop. I don't see the point in raising 3BB pre-flop and likely 10BB on the flop to win 1.5BB. Personal preference. Although at rush I do steal quite a bit because players just want to move on to the next hand. I know a lot of players will disagree with this approach but you know what I think of their opinions.

Bluffing in a cash game can cost you money most definitely. Although, semi buffing where you have a big draw is ok.
