Hey guys,

I'm running a fundraiser/get-together poker tournament for my ball team and need some help with the structure.

It's a 4 hour tournament with two re-buys in the first hour.

How many chips to begin would you suggest, what blind structure will have us completed within 4 hours?

I would think 20 players max will be there as it's basically my ball team.

I would do something like $40 for 2k chips with 2 $20 1k rebuys that can be taken anytime you are at 2k or less.

So you could rebuy right away at the start of the tourney and start with 3k chips and it also allows people to wait until they bust and double rebuy.

25/50 30 min
50/100 30 min
100/200 20 min
150/300 20 min
200/400 20 min
Break, colour out 25s
300/600 20 min
400/800 20 min
600/1200 20 min
800/1600 20 min
1000/2000 20 min
1500/3000 20 min

20x3000 chips ave = 60000 chips in play, max 80000
80000/30 = 2666, it will end somewhere in the last two levels.

Moose, you have too much time on your hands to work that out and actually type it...

STP, there are sites online that work it out for you if you google tournament blind structures... Some will actually ask you when you want it to end, etc.... Or you can use Moose's professional opinion.

If you end up with less than 60k chips in play then make all the levels 30 min.
