Looking for some chips..

I am looking for some good chips to play home tourneys and cash games with. Will probably need 750-1000 and I would like a good quality chip, preferably ceramic. I have looked into a lot of chips and right now am leaning towards some Nile Club, however if anyone has any that are of this quality or better that are used or no and you would like to part with them please post here. I would love to save some $ and buy a good used set. A case isn't really an issue.

For the cost of new Pharaouh's, you really should look at buying a set new. The price is like $.32US each, and they are a bargain at that price. Brand new and very high quality. Everyone I know that has them really likes them. They're not Paulsons, but they're the next best thing.

So good in fact...Canada Customs will hold them for a week!

I'll second what AJ said. Also, the Nile Club chips have rounded edges, so they will not stand on end. May not seem like a big deal, but it probably means they will not stack as well.

Best advice? Become a member at Chiptalk, and hold on until the "Black Friday" sales in November. You will be able to get great chips at stoopid prices . . . in the meantime you will also learn some things that will make your selection better informed.

Sorry, dumb question but by Pharaohs do you mean a chip called Pharaoh or is that slang for the Nile Club (they have pharaohs on them).

Pharoah means Pharoah, NOT Nile Club. Pharoah's are a compression clay chip, and they are LIGHT YEARS better than the Nile Club chips you have seen.
