Netherlands players

Anyone else believe players from the Netherlands are actually Americans playing and beating the US ban on Online Poker?

While I am sure that there are Americans circumventing the US ban, I am not certain what the Netherlands has to do with it?

I just seem to notice alot more players from Netherlands. For a country of 16 million I think half of them play online poker.

Nah, most US players are going to Canada, Costa Rica or Mexico.

Why go 1/2 way around the world.

Wasn't there a DANE that won the WSOP a few of years ago, and is now a PokerStars Pro ? That may explain the surge of players from that part of the world.

I believe they are still playing from the USA, just registering somehow from the Netherlands.

I doubt it. The hoops you have to go through for a US player to get their account reinstated is not easy. Not worth it for micro players and the big players would not jeopardize their accounts.

PS also monitors for VPN and proxy access.

Obv. "went away" for 2 years less a day, and just got a new 'puter, comp. He's paid his debt. Leave him alone.

Sounds logical, I was in Amsterdam back in November and my friend urged me to try the local casino. It was nearly empty. The only people who really play a lot are the dutch-asian immigrants. Native dutch are not really gamblers.
