Odds question..

Hey guys, wasnt sure to put this under online games or general.... but I figured it has to do with odds in general, and id get more responses here.

Anyways, ive been experimenting with an online odds calculator.. And i noticed something that seems strange to me... i could easily be missing something very basic here, which is why im asking.

First off the calculator tells your odds preflop to the river, your % of making each type of hand... high card, pair, flush, straight flush.. etc.
It also tells you your win rate vs best opponent, which i dont understand at all... but i can live without that, i just wanna know my exact odds off spiking my backdoor draw by the river.

THe weird thing I noticed is that with straight/flush type hands preflop, your odds of making either a straight or flush INCREASE after every person who folds an unseen hand. This doesnt make sense to me... shouldnt they stay pretty much the same? IF the calculator could see your opponents hole cards, this still wouldnt make sense. Can anyone explain this?

My guess:

When people drop out of a hand, I don't think it's calculating the odds of you actually making your straight or flush, but it's calculating the odds on how many times you will win the hand vs whatever hands you're up against, regardless if you make your flush/straight draw.
The less people in the hand with you, the better odds you have at winning the hand, but I'm sure you know this.

Cheers

Holdem Advantage, it was created by fulltilt poker.. and strangely enough its built for Pokerstars.

and heineken, that would make sense if just the overall win% increased... but the calculator is specifically telling me that my odds of making a specific hand are increasing. Ie, my flush % goes from 8% -11% after two people fold.
