player points and comp points

had a thought cross my mind today and i figured i'd share...

playing online gets you player points.

playing in casinos gets you comp points.

wouldn't it be interesting for a casino to launch an online poker site where the player points you earn online could be transferred to your casino players card and used as regular casino comp points.

just a thought...

This is why Las Vegas wants to ban online poker.

then nobody would leave their homes and play online 24 hrs a day to rack up points....atleast that's what I would do.

isn't that just because they don't have poker websites?

is that a problem for the casino? they'd still be making money. and the comps that transfer over would be used as regular casino comps which have to be used at the casino.

rake back is basically the same thing... I would rather have rake back deposited in my online account every week, than to earn comps at some casino I have to spend time and money travelling to. Doesn't add up.

well i was kind of suggesting that the player points/comp points could be interchangeable.

unfortunately, I don't think the casinos in Ontario would want to have to deal with the administration of this thing. Its not like they need the additional business. Be nice if you could exchange a certain number of player points from certain online sites for a free night's stay at Fallsview.

would it really be that difficult? i would assume after the initial set-up (which would obviously take a little while to set up) it could be as easy as swiping a card.

yeah, using player points for casino and or hotel stays or whatever is exactly what i`m talking about. it would be awesome for someone who only plays online to gain enough points to go play at a casino and stay for free sort of thing.

as I stated previously, can't you just take your rake back cheques and use them towards your hotel of choice? that way you have more options.

On a related note, I have a friend who strictly plays poker at Fallsview twice a month. He tells me him and his wife stay at Fallsview twice a month for free (comp'd). He only plays poker and his wife only plays slots for $100 max per visit. Does this make sense?? Seems pretty easy to get comp'd free rooms at this five star hotel.

you get rakeback and points on poker websites. are you saying that you personally only get rakeback and no points? i'm suggesting that you can still get rakeback, but your online points can be used as casino comp points as well. this has nothing to do with rakeback i'd imagine.

wow i didn't realize that it was that easy. although now are you saying that casino comp points are completely useless? what do you use them for then? well whatever they are used for, imagine gaining them through the casino's poker website as well.

yup that easy, Ontario casinos are hurting so you will prob score more freebies, I know casino"we tighten the slots below what the law allows"rama bugs the hell out of my folks trying to give them free tickets to concerts, they do get free rooms but good luck trying to reserve a Friday or Saturday night but they are mostly used for meals.
