| Sick hand: Durr vs Sammy George
Ok, this is just the sickest hand I've ever seen. I really couldn't take my eyes off the screen for a second on the river. Free Poker Videos - Watch Poker Videos for Free - Durrrr Million Dollar Challenge Ep 2 2/2
36:30 and on
EDIT: Found this video which cuts right to the point:

Maybe it's just me but didn't see it being that crazy a hand. Yeah Durr bluffed all in...but Sammy really didn't have that much to call with. Either Durr is bluffing or Sammy is crushed.

that is a really tough call for Sammy....smells like JJ and Sammy calls like he has the nuts (which he thought he did), then the river pairs and durrr shoves, basically durrr shoving means he knows sammy has a big hand to be check-calling all the way down based on the preflop action.
In real life durrr is repping a monster as stated in the commentary and the overshove is a total level. Its the "i don't want a call, but i know you think that so in actual fact I want you to call and ship off your stack as I show you the nuts"

EDIT: also, if Tom was going to muck his cards, he would have thrown them towards the dealer, not Sammy.

Had a chance to play HU Holdem against Sammy this past fall at WSOPE as he was preparing for this HU match with Durrrrr. Id just like to say hes probably one of the nicest guys around and had suprisingly very little ego which is refreshing.

there was a little bit of history leading up to this hand as well. First off they were playing the 27 game, so durr showing his hand here earned him another 10k. Also durr had run a pretty big bluff on Sammy a while back and it was pretty clear that Sammy was in no mood to be pushed around. He seemed really really determined to bluffcatch all the way which makes the move even more bold

If I was durrrr I would not show the 27. Man, that is kicking him while he is down. Brutal.

Also afaik it seems like they've become buddies, maybe Durr sees it as being +EV long term. I mean imagine doing the move then not showing, then months later (or whenever) he sees it on TV and gets offended.
I mean this guy's rich right? Pride's probably more important to him than money. So Durr hiding the move would just piss him off in a way that might make him play with Durr less in the future.

The EV is at least +10k because that's the amount they agreed on giving the other player if he wins a hand with 27..

lol, how is +EV even a factor when xxK ~ EV is in play?
sry but 10k just isnt enough to make me wanna muck my hand there.
Durrrr out played him, in position with nothing, plain and simple.
/thread.
