Cheers, can anyone clarify for me what the difference between SS1 and SS2 are? Is there a big difference, different sections, just updated ? Is it worth investing in SS2 if I already have SS1?
I own and have read SS2. I believe it's an update based on using new authors for the various sections, and Doyle adds a bit to his original section on NLHE. But I'm going from memory here, so I could be off a bit. Was not overly impressed with it, to be honest. Maybe I am not at the appropriate level to grasp it all, or something like that but, honestly, I have found other books in my collection to be more helpful to me. But thats me.

I don't gamble . . . but I will bet.
There are some differences in the non-NLHE games. I can't remember the exact games, but I believe they removed stuff like 5 card stud /draw, and replaced it with 2-7 triple draw.
They've added a section on online play, and a "tips segment" with Mike Caro.. .both worthwhile. As for the actual content with regards to the "hot games" right now... SS2 will do IMO

If you are going to pick one, pick SS2 since it covers the games currently played today. The only exception for SS1 is Chip Reese's section on 7 card stud.
