I just had to share this with everyone. I had a fundraiser poker tourney for my boys hocket team just last month. ( It was a great success )
I set up an optional 50/50 prior to the start of the tourney where the winner was the first person to get a four of a kind. Almost all 44 of the people in my basement went in for the 50/50.
The tourney gets underway and as I am going over the papers infront of me I hear " 4 of a kind "
I go over to the one table and we had a 4 Queens beat an Aces full of Queens full house. I announce the winner and check the timer and we were not even 10 minutes into the tourney.

Someone shouts out " let's do it again " I ask everyone and they agree. Since it is optional I go to the first table to ask and record entered people. I start to collect and I hear " 4 of a kind " 4 sixes and I have only collected $10. We skipped that 4 of a kind and the next winner happened about an hour later to win the 50/50.

Just something that I found odd and had to share.

Awesome idea, what kind of buy-in for this type of tourney. A great way to raise some cash for the kids and have some fun too.

I had a buy-in of $60 ( $40 in pot.... $20 to the team )

It was a great success. 44 people brought in $1110 for the boys hockey team.

The 50/50 was $5 and was optional.

Almost everyone goes into the 50/50 thou.
