When to stop?

I've been playing once a week at Casino Windsor for the last month.

I wanted to test my endurance at the tableand so far 7.5 hours is about my max.
each time I am playing 1-2 100max and haven't been pulling huge wins by the time I leave.
In my mind I'm paying for my poker education.....not losing.

Last time I went (last Sunday) I was on my second rebuy and started getting hot......before too long I had my $300 back and was up another $300.
good,great,grand.

Until I continue to sit there and lose it over the next couple hours.
The money isn't the issue. I have a decent job that affords me some discretionary spending, it's the inexperience or lack of discipline that kept me from taking my money and calling it a win.

When do you know when to leave?

When to leave depends greatly on you. I know from experience that after about 3 1/2 hours I start to have problems with concentration. For me that's when it's time to leave.

I guess my problem is that I'm there for both the action as well as the $$.
the action seems to win.

It is obvious. You leave when you can no longer beat the game.

I personally like to play for a set period (usually around 4 hours) and/or until I reach a certain profit point. Once you make a certain amount, it might be time to call it a day, not unless the table is really soft. This strategy is not for everyone. You may be loosing up your game when you are up chips (playing more rag hands hoping to hit), which I think is common for most players.

I guess I need to come up with a time frame and dollar figure to work with.
I forgot to apply the old addage "if you can measure it, you can manage it"

You leave when your clothes stink so bad that no one will sit beside you..... now seriously, it all depends, if your up and the table dynamics have changed that make it no longer beatable you leave.

I never set a time limit but I look at things like if I'm getting crap cards, have a tight table image and stack a guy with a decent hand I know I'm really not going to get action. Time to ride the rush (or pretend too) then go.

If I've been mucking around in a lot of flops and hitting large, I stay until I feel like going. If I have gotten hit large and lost 2 or 3 buy ins I"m gone regardless of how long I've been there.

As with most things in poker "it depends"

Maybe you should get up from the table more often, have a stretch, eat a meal, and then you'll be able to play for longer periods.

I actually treated myself to a $100 steak dinner one night I was winning a fair amount.....only I had to pound it back cause they only give you 45 minutes for dinner.
