Who is Alan Smithee?

After some recollection in the daylight, I believe a very experienced player by the name of Allan Smithee is/about to start, participating on cpf? I think I was at the table with him/her last night. Perhaps I should have asked if he/she had 'seen Warren Hipel' lately, was that the code? If possible, I'd like him/her to mAssage me.
