Games in Cambridge/Kitchener area

Hey peeps,

I live in Cambridge and used to frequent tourneys in the area until they were recently shut down Just wanted to know if there were any tourneys that someone knew of in the area that happen weekly monthly whatever, the bigger the better. Anything from 20-60 or so freezeouts prefered. thanks

Keep an eye out for

"Bristol Street" - Zithal
"Holt Poker Tour" - Buzzzard
"Nith River Casino" - JohnnieH
"Moose's game" - Moose

They're great tourneys with lower buy-ins.

structure is 15,000 start stack for $20 + $5 gold chips towards your bounty +$5 into the season pool which occur every 3 months which you qualify for by placing in the
top 24 in points or winning one of the tournaments. Blinds go up every 25 mins starting and 100/200

its a regular weekly game... turnouts are good at this time of year and donkeys are at large so tread carefully... theres no real contact info, the the bar itself has nothing to do with the game except selling food or beverages when players go downstairs, of which no alcohol is allowed upstairs. the fields have been gradually growing but there are still lots of pots open on the regular

I have the details. From what was relayed, the game is not raked. It's been a long standing game, so long, I forgot about it. The buyin is so small, I think it is more of a fun social game.

Sounds similar to our Monday evening game which is also not raked but does serve booze. No doubt is illegal by the letter of the law but for small stakes and not being raked, no one pays much attn. May try this out as well. Let me know I you decide to give it a try Moose and I may too.

ive been playing there on and off for just over a year, people are great, well run, really for $30 cant really go wrong with a field of 40... the cash game i can assure 100% is not raked, dealers are voluntary and keep their tips, like i mentioned its a $50 max .50/1.00 game. Ive played in quite a few games and this is one of more social games of this size ive been apart of.

In terms of legality, the argument can go either way if you choose to pick a side, low risk long standing game, no rake, then again TJ's, which voluntarily shut down was kinda of the same in the sense of being social. Although I was told the the guy running it was getting a cut of the prize pool which led to the game being stopped.

And this poker being illegal debate is really starting to grind my gears dont know about you guys but just throwing a possible debate out there

I might be persuaded to ride shotgun.
