Looks like the 2011 poker tournament schedule is now posted on the Great Blue Heron website. The deep stack tournaments seem to offer more bang for the buck, assuming they following the same structure as the monthly tournaments. Twenty tournaments in all, with the additional 'King of the Hill' invitational at the end of the year. August is a busy month with four tournaments taking place:
I might reinvest my profit from Friday night in next week's tournament. Need to make the trip to GBH for once. How are the cash games? Is it better to get there before the tournament starts and play some cash? Not much of a limit player.
My first time at GBH. Wasn't really impressed compared to other Ontario casinos. Only one cash game running on the day of a tournament and 15/30 no less. Players realize that a tournament will start in a few hours but you would think they could get at least one 5/10 or 10/20 table going? Not much food options and nothing close by. Too bad some of the other casinos don't run more tournaments throughout the year.
Any plans SK to run some satellites to the $750 or $1k events? probably some interest and the structure is pretty good. Good luck next week in any case.
