I am going to Winnipeg in the near future and was wonder if is worth my time to check out The Club Regent Casino. I am only interested in their poker room. Has anyone been there? What type of games/limits do they spread mid-week? Thanks

I played there in the spring when I was there for work. There were 3 tables only, each offering 3-6 hold'em. There were LOTS of maniacs the two nights I played. Nice enough place, though.

Club Regent is the only Winnipeg Casino that has poker tables. The other Wpg casino, McPhillips Street Station used to have poker tables, but they stopped offering them due to lack of demand :banghead: . Club Regent now does offer a 4-8 game, but only if enough players are available. The 3-6 games are run only on certain days at certain times (ie thru, fri, weekends, IIRC) and there is a tournament series they run one tuesday every month with either a $50+5 or $100+10 buyin. ANd I do confirm there are many maniacs at the tables, so that can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you play

Also agree about the maniacs. However if you have the discipline to play a solid game (tight/aggressive) you can actually do alright there.

And whatever you do, don't let the Bellagio Wannabes get the better of you. They love to shoot their mouths off and criticize everyone, especially newbies. They're easy to tilt though and if you have the cash to show them a few weak plays can easily take advantage of them. It can be quite fun.
