5 10 and 10 20, horrid dealers, don't expect more than 20 hands per hour

Re: The Ex. ....

I was at the Ex on Tuesday night.....quite the theatrics at the table. Â*Guys, pumping pre-flop with A-rag/K-rag. Not able to lay down hands, it was great. Â*The dealers stink, as they can't calculate the rakes nor do they control the game, the players seem to do that (which i could care less because if you are too busy figuring out the rake for the dealer you aren't paying attention to me )

Some memorable hands of the evening

Flopping two pair only to get rivered by trips (guy had bottom pair on the flop)
Flopping flush and having it hold up vs a flopped 2 pair and A-high draw. Â*That was a huge pot close to 600.00

The key at the Ex I found was to sit back and wait. Â*Honestly the game is so loose you get paid because people can't lay down a hand, as long as you can survive the swing you should be good. Â*

Re: The Ex. ....

I was thier on monday for 5 hours. I dont even play limit holdem and doubled my buy-in after 5 hours playing 5/10. I played tight as hell and it worked. Some of the players their are bloody horrendus. I was seeing people play j4 offsuit utg, playing 95 offsuit capped preflop and so many other horrendus plays. They had 18 tables thier, I had a few ok dealers, some bad and one azn guy who was probably 20 or so and made it feel like internet poker when he was thier.

All in all a good experience, seems very profitable as most of the 5/10 limit players horrible and blow hundreds of dollars an hr calling every raise with a gutshot to the river.

Re: The Ex. ....

how long did you play for? man you must have extreme patience, the swings are crazy, i usually play tight but the game is so slow because everytime the flop is seen through to the end.... plus it's quite frustrating getting sucked out a lot.

only good thing is that it's really close but don't know if it's worth it, people are there to gamble as opposed to play poker

I think you mean GUNshots?

While I'm patient I'm not sure if the pace is going to be acceptable. Thanks for the input

I'd rather play poker with people who are there to "gamble" than those there to profit and play well. Of course there will be swings but the idea is the maxamize profit from your winning hands while keeping your loses to a minimum. YOU HAVE TO PUT IN THE TIME to be a profitable poker player, so if you plan on winning $$$$ plan on putting in your time, don't go and plan on leaving in 2 hours (since you can very possibly wait 2 hours just for a seat) And complaining about the suck outs is just plain stupid, those people who suck you out are the same people who make you your money in the end.

Re: The Ex. ....

If you can't beat this type of game then you should not play poker.

I am so sick of people saying that they can't beat a cash game because the other players are so bad and chase them down. You reaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy have to look at your own game if you don't know how to adjust to a loose game.

I was there Tuesday night at around 10pm...sat down in 15 minutes at the 10/20 game....I find going there at around that time is the most profitable....a lot of people have been playing since the afternoon so they are getting tired and have big stacks to donate to you. Â*The other end, there are a lot of players trying to catch up so they will start playing reckless. Â*I sat there till about 1:30 and I tripled my money...I brought 400 to the table and walked out with 1200.

Once again, the swings are definitely brutal, but they are no different than in the underground games. Â*People are their to gamble, its not like at Rama or Brantford. Â*Its not Casino dumb...its money dumb...as in people play lots of hands but pump them to throw weaker players out. Â*

A good example of this was one hand I played. Â*Had A4suited late position no raise. Â*Flop comes 499. Â*Four in the hand. Â*The flop is checked to me so I bet. Â*Call call call. Â*(so I figure someone has a 9 at this point, which I wanted to find out for cheap instead of later on...). Â*Turn comes a 7. Â*No flush or straight at this point. Â*Once again it is checked to me, call call call. Â*River is another 4. Â*It is checked to me one last time....like clockwork. I bet out....UTG has the nerve to re-raise me. Â*LMAO. Â*Do I actually think you were slow playing a 9 to the river....if so I will pay him off, not until I re-raise him. Â*He just calls.

Flips over 88. Â*I win with my boat. Â*So as you can see it is a little scarier than the casino game with a lot of pumoing draws and re-raising but if you play position and you have a decent read on the players, the game is the most profitable you will get this year.

Re: The Ex. ....

As an employee of the CNE Casino I feel I should come to the defence of my co-workers.

I understand that there is a difference between the CNE experience and that which you would find at a regular casino. However, I think this has to be expected. A lot of the dealers are working the tables for the first time; Training is relatively minimal and being thrown to the wolves only compounds the problem. We've found that almost all new dealers in all games, not just poker, were nervous during their first few shifts - mistakes were bound to happen.

I can't speak directly for the poker dealers as I work in the the Spanish 21 pit, however, I know most of them and talk to them hourly when on break. Everyone is much calmer now that a week has gone by - I think everyone can look forward to the action running much smoother. All you as a player can do is cut them a little bit of slack. No one will improve quickly in an environment where they feel as though they are not welcome.
