Monte Carlo Hotel Resort Las Vegas

Has anyone stayed there? Views/opinions?

Might be going there with some friends over the New Years weekend, and found a hotel/flight package for $800~ per person for 5 nights including flights + all fees + taxes.

I've never really been inside the hotel itself as a whole so would like to get some help.

How is the accessibility from the strip, just some general comments will be appreciated.

Thanks!

poker room is a joke. Monte Carlo really isn't near anywhere you want to play for walkability. However I guess you could monorail to Aria/Bellagio. There is a good bar btwn Monte Carlo/Aria in the mall with cheap evening drink specials.

I stayed there for two weeks during last year's WSOP in both a suite and standard room. The family-friendly swimming pool is on the first floor, along with a food court and a 24/7 cafe where I ate my all-day breakfasts.

The small poker room was OK, and the promotions were high-hand jackpots and a weekend freeroll. I preferred walking across the street to the MGM Grand poker room.

Still took me a while to walk to the Bellagio from MC though if the monorail is there that will work. That Devil's Cantina restauraunt is awesome. Can't remember if I tried the buffet. Found myself eating subway or fish tacos in the food court a few days.

agreed, pretty sure from a time perspective it would be much quicker to walk directly to Bellagio.

Well I don't know about that. You still have to walk the same distance to the far end of Bellagio for the PR. Inside or outside doesn't really matter. Monte Carlo PR is also pretty far from the front entrance and fairly close to the monorail.

Ok..thanks for the responses so far, but I got a few more.

Aside from the PR, how is the walk from strip to elevators to hotel? Is it as bad as MGM Grand where you literally have to walk through the entire casino to have access?

Has anyone stayed at NYNY and give an opinion on that too?

Yes you would have to walk through the entire casino, but its not as big as mgm. Taxi area is a lot closer though.

I liked the rooms but the rest of the hotel was just OK. Then again I stayed when they were building the City Center so being at the pool was a bit annoying.

Booked it...just under $810 per person for 5 nights in their deluxe room, flying out from Toronto.

Another $40 or so for the resort fee so total is just under $850 for flights/accommodations.
