Anyone been to the NAPC in the last couple of years care to comment on how friendly the tourney is to railbirds? Can you go down and watch and walk aroung etc? Any info would be appreciated.

I was going to buy in but my allowance has been severely curtailed since a wayward post in another thread was seen by my wife.

I think you have to watch from the viewing gallery above the tournament floor; kind of hard to see cards from up there. I don't think they will allow you on the floor unless you are a player. I'm pretty sure they allow you up there for every day of the tournament.

Cool, are they still running sats right up until the Sunday day 1c? Could I go down and still win my way in Thursday night?

Listen, my wife is the pimp in the relationship. Any monetary agreements to have sex with me will be heard by her. Who do you think suggested the tag line? I'm sure for a few hundred grand I can sleep with whomever she wants!

Blondefish posted something the other day about the sats and when they finish; he is the expert on this tournament and when you have until to qualify.

they will be running the sats until Saturday night, I don't know what time. Sunday at noon is day 1 C.

Rail birds can only get within 10 feet of the closest table to the doors. It is hard to see all the action, even at the closest table.

I was there the first year, and you could get to within 5 or 10 feet of one row of tables.
Without the player's pass you couldn't get into the pit.

I think it's when they hit the final table that they move it into the ballroom for everyone to see.

I think they will probably start the last one a couple hours before the official start time for 1C, to make sure the winner can get into the main tournament before the end of first level. I'll probably head down this weekend to give it a shot or something.

How many tables of 5/5, 5/10 do you anticipate to have running? Based on last year's experience, how long will a wait be during the week for those games?

Things will start to slow down as players bust from the tournament. Lists will be long. Waits will be long. Prepare to camp out or learn blackjack while you wait.
Thanks. I'm going to assume the craps table will be up-ing their minimum bets as well?

Wednesday Trip Report

With round-the-clock satellites and escalating cash games during the week of the WPT, I booked a motel for the next seven nights (only $210!). I phoned Casino Brantford to cancel and get a refund for the Thursday tournament so I can stay at Niagara Falls, but it was too late.

My roommate and I signed up for the satellites around Wednesday noon but there were already a lot of players ahead of us so we had lots of time to eat our comped meal. I finally got called to play a $460 satellite around 2 PM, and 13CARDS and I did the secret forum handshake as he handed me my satellite receipt. With a couple of friends cheering me from the rail, I won another $1,240 voucher two hours later, but all the lists had become very long by this time. I played the cash game while waiting and for the second straight night, cashed out over $1K. It must be the lucky handshake!

I only saw one forumer there and when we asked how far down the satellite list we were, there were still over 20 players ahead of me while her name had disappeared. Her name was put back behind me, while I decided to call it a night.

Today, Thursday is the final day for the $460 satellites. I still have some $460 vouchers left, so hopefully, players with a $460 voucher will be given priority to play - or I'll gladly accept a cash refund from the casino.

That sounds great to me. Instead of playing against the fish at 2/5, they will now be forced to play 5/10 for the next week.
