I have always used Dollar Car Rental from Las Vegas. Even though I have tried the discounters it has been as good or better from Dollars own site. Sign up for the Dollar Express. It's free and you get a preferred line with little to no wait plus the car paperwork is done when you arrive.

When we were last in Vegas, I rented from Alamo.

Everything went great, and we took it all the way to LA for 3 days - no problem or extra charges. We had our choice of a large fleet of vehicles at the airport and dropoff was basically put the car in a lineup, give them the keys, someone takes a glance at it, sign a slip and go.

But you can't control the vendor...I prefer to use certain rental companies, some are too doggy for me. They all do try the liability coverage scam.

Our Hotwire reservation was for Alamo as well. Top notch service and everything was as Al described above. Also note that my Hotwire reservation only saved me about $10 from what was available to me directly from their web-site.....price was great either way.


And there's really no liability scam anymore. They will always ask if you want it, just be knowledgeable. If you pay for it with a credit card you're most likely already covered.
