That is a pretty nice hand and if a hand like AA is going to lose it may as well lose in style, and it is great if your Royal can win in such a manner as it will be a hand you will never forget.
I have only ever had one royal flush and the crazy thing is that I got it on the flop (no idea what the odds were). Sadly it happened at a cheap NL Party table when I was just working off a deposit bonus. I did not win a HUGE pot though I think it was worth checking the river just to show off the hand
. Unlike yours I did not have any competitors with even a decent hand to play.
