| Vekked Poker Seminar Interest Thread
Ok I didn't know where to post this, but figured I'd post it here since this is the most relevant section where I spend time. If there's a better section then maybe compuease can move it there.
For a while I've been thinking of doing coaching, and I kind of like the idea of a group seminar thing since I think it's more feasible for students and I can still make enough to justify my time taken off grinding. I've never done a seminar before however and I've been thinking of doing a test run in order to see how it goes, so I figured a good group of guinea pigs might be PFC members :P. My idea is to offer a seminar at a discounted (and hopefully reasonable) price, only to PFC members in order to see how it goes. Potential details are as follows:
-$50/person, this is about 1/2 to 1/3 of what I think I'll be charging if I end up doing these and opening them up to everyone. My (and nearly any HSMTT player's) private coaching range would be like $150-$200, so I think this is a pretty sick deal.
-2 to 3 hours roughly, but won't end before whatever material I'm planning to cover is covered, so could be up to 4-5 hours if I'm super long-winded (which I usually am :S)
-If there's technical difficulties because it's my first seminar it won't be included in the 2-3 hours obv, and if the difficulties make it really bad I'll postpone, but basically you're getting at least 2-3 hours of strat teaching/discussion for your $50 regardless
-I'd like at least 6 people
-It'll likely take place some Thursday evening because that's best for me, but it's def negotiable
That's pretty much all I've got right now. If there's enough interest I'd like to talk about what topic to cover to make it best suited for the people interested. Right now I have a really good idea for a late game/final table bubble seminar that's a bit on the advanced side, I think it could be pretty interesting for some insight into how I close tournaments, but maybe there's a better topic for most people.
Thoughts?

Personally I think early MTT is most boring haha. Most HSMTT players basically do the same, tight early rarely 3 betting unless a very good reason to do so. Just think there are better topics for $50 :P

blondefish - Unfortunately I can't have everyone going around quadruple range merging or there'd just be no money left in poker, so no :P.

Originally Posted by Vekked I'd def be talking about bet-sizing almost regardless of the overall topic. What exactly about raise-folding are you interested in? | I guess I meant betfolding. I'm mostly interested in how to think about cbets, especially when cbetting something you expect to be ahead for value/protection and getting faced with a raise with short effective stacks. (for example that AK hand that was on the forum where we 3bet out of the BB and was left with right about enough chips to cbet fold the flop)
Also cbetfolding early on. I've watched training videos often talking about dry k high flops to be an easy cbet-fold with TPTK in a three handed and sometimes even heads up situation. Since I rarely go through with the fold part in those spots I'm interested in learning more about spots where you might have the best hand facing a raise.
Also, pre flop bet sizing and in particular open sizing and 3bet sizing and how your stack and opposition should affect these. My default is like 3x with deep effective stacks and 2,5x and 2,75x BvB regardless of how short stacks gets (unless ofc I'm shoving). It's a bit contradictory since I'm comfortable playing flops most of the time, but I'm not comfortable making my open smaller since
I'm very uncomfortable playing 3bet pots without a read and I feel that opening smaller tells our opponent that we're opening wider which often induces 3bets. Anyway, that's the type of thing I would like some input on
