WSOP Satellite Part 1 (hand history, kinda long)

Yeah so this is going to be pretty long but here's the hands from the first 3 hours that seemed interesting with my thoughts. Â*Hopefully someone finds this interesting/helpful. Â*Sorry it's just the raw hand history, I've cleaned it up where I could.Â* Please post any questions/comments about these!

OK, the gameplan is flop sets and bust the donks. Â*First hand only goes half right.

I limp behind a bunch of limpers and hope to flop something big. Â*I flop TPTK and call the bet on the flop. Â*When he checks the turn I figure I probably have the best hand and decide to put out a decent bet to get value from pair and draw type hands, planning to check behind on the end unimproved.

I suppose I should be betting the turn here but I want to control pot size early on and I'm hoping to pick off a bet from a pair and draw type hand on a river blank. Â*A very ugly river card rolls off and he makes a big bet. I thought this guy was a solid player and probably not bluffing here but he actually wasn't that strong from what I saw. Â*He might have stole one here but the fold can't be too bad.

I decide to check behind on the flop to get value from smaller pairs on later streets and because I have no kicker and don't want to get in too much trouble against a bigger ace. Â*Obvious call on the turn and as usual I value bet into a better hand trying to paid off by QJ on the river.

Even from early-middle position Steve is aggro enough that I think pushing is correct here.Â* I didn't really want to because of the he knows that I know factor but calling seemed pretty lame.Â* Not sure about his call here, he does know that I know, but I'm still a tight wad, I don't think I resteal with a really huge range here even against him.Â* I get lucky and win a flip though.Â*

OK standard steal raise and continuation bet.Â* I figure I have 6 outs and am getting a good price to try to catch against his min-checkraise since I prboably bust him when I hit.Â* I maybe should have been a little more concerned about a set since a 2 only gets me in trouble then, but I get lucky and hit.

Back to the original plan.Â* Flop sets, double through aces.Â* Standard call preflop, this might be a spot where I should be leading the flop and hoping he raises me enough to feel pot-committed with an overpair.Â* Instead I go for the checkraise which is also a fine option especially with the 3rd player in the middle.Â* I overbet the turn to make it look like I'm trying to push him out and because i really don't want to see an ace or 4 come off.Â* It's not an easy laydown but I think he should be able to get away from his hand on the turn, at least against a nit like me.Â* I have a LOT of chips now.
OMG I JUST REALZIED I PLAY 22 WAAAAAAY BETTER THAN ALL_ACESÂ* .

Re: WSOP Satellite Part 1 (hand history, kinda long)

Fantastic result. Congrats!

I'm curious how you have 2 people in the same house allowed to play in a tourney. Stars won't even let me play in a play money game with my kids in the same house. Do you have separate IP addresses?

You can play MTT, but not SNGs or cash games.

Re: WSOP Satellite Part 1 (hand history, kinda long)

How many entries and at various points, if possible could you give the number of players left and your approx chip position.

Re: WSOP Satellite Part 1 (hand history, kinda long)

There were 472 entries paying 26 seats. For all the hands in this first part the number of players left isn't too important. After the 200/400 level there were about 100 left so you should be able to estimate somewhat from there. If there was a way I could check I'd include it, it's definitely important information.
