Hi everyone

Hi All,

I'm here needing help with understanding and dealing with the attitudes of friends and family, especially family, who treat me like a heroine addict. I really get the feeling they're affraid I'm going to steal all of their stuff and sell it for buy in's to cash games and tournaments.

I'm here because you folks have dealt with similar situations and I want to know why people who seem to have a grasp on things turn into born again religious freaks?

Other than that, I'm looking forward to chatting about poker and ways to be better at the game.

First of all, are you a heroine addict? If so, admit it and get help. Here is not the place.

2nd, do you steal stuff?

3rd, is this a level? fed?

This is why I think he should be perma-banned. I'm sick of 2nd guessing a new member based on Fed antics.

Ablebrave-Are you a gambling addict? Ask yourself these questions.

Signs of Unhealthy Computer Use

A person who is “addicted” to the computer is likely to have several of the experiences and feelings on the list below. How many of them describe you?

* You have mixed feelings of well-being and guilt while at the computer.
* You make unsuccessful efforts to quit or limit your computer use.
* You lose track of time while on the computer.
* You neglect friends, family and/or responsibilities in order to be online.
* You find yourself lying to your boss and family about the amount of time spent on the computer and what you do while on it.
* You feel anxious, depressed, or irritable when your computer time is shortened or interrupted.
* You use the computer repeatedly as an outlet when sad, upset, or for sexual gratification.
* You develop problems in school or on the job as a result of the time spent and the type of activities accessed on the computer.
* When you are not on the computer, you think about it frequently and anticipate when you will use it again.

I'm looking forward to seeing someone else's opinion.

Sure, I'll be your huckleberry . . .

Certain people will always view gambling as a negative. They can usually be ignored, unless they are family. If your enjoyment of poker is consuming your personal life, they may have a point. You really have not given us much to base an opinion on in your OP, so that is all you get without more details.

First of all, I want to apologize for my remark to your reply. I'm new to forums and this is my first time on a forum. I didn't read what you had written because I logged in directly to someone else's response which seemed like a bunch of words cut and pasted from gooogle searches, stuff that I have read before. This time I see your very valid questions and "no", I don't steal stuff, and I am a poker addict and the other questions I didn't understand. But, I have decided to contiue to go forward onn my own and if they want to hang with me then they can buy in at the table I'm playing at.

Thanks everyone. Your input has helped me reach a plann of action.
