| READ before posting in "Home Games"
When it comes posting on the Home Games board, please keep in mind the following from the "FAQ: Forum Posting Guidelines". Do not post any details of any home poker event unless you are the organizer of the event yourself, or you have the organizer's consent to do so.
Home game organizers are welcome to advertise and/or discuss their events on the forum if they choose to do so. Equally important is for everyone to respect an organizer's choice to not discuss a home poker game in the public part of the forum.
A few points for clarity.
1. If you are unsure at all about a Home Games post that you are thinking about posting, it would likely be better to not make the post and use a private communication to get in touch with the organizer (or whoever) instead.
2. A useful rule of thumb (for non-organizers):
-If you are replying to a existing thread, you are almost always going to be okay in terms of this rule.
-If you are starting a new thread, you may be at risk of violating the organizer's right to privacy. ALAAAAAAAARM!
3. For organizers: Please let the Mods/Admin know if you are having problems with this issue. (Use the "Report to moderator" feature or send me a PM.) I personally do not read the Home Games section regularly. I doubt the other Mods/Admin do either.
What is the reasoning behind this rule? It is a known fact that police officers have used this forum to gain information regarding home poker games. Organizers of home poker games generally bear nearly 100% of the legal risks (if any) involved with hosting a poker game. Respect the organizers' the right to remain silent.
