Sun Poker is one of the oldest online poker sites and currently operates on the iPoker Network. Started in 2001, Sun Poker quickly gained a reputation for attracting bonus hunters and bad poker players and was at one time one of the largest online poker rooms. With the introduction of the UIGEA several years ago, Sun Poker was forced to pull out of the US market and lost a large amount of their market share as their software was running on the Cryptologic network. Moving to the iPoker Network meant that Sun Poker players no longer had to wait long times to get into games. Registration times are very quick and there are a great selection of ring games and tournaments.

Rakeback is not permitted on the Sun Poker network, which means that it is flooded with fish. Most poker sharks seem to think rakeback is the only option for playing online and stay away from places that do not offer it. If you have ever played in one of the PokerForum.ca games on Titan then you will be familiar with the software as Sun and Titan share the same software. The lobby is extensive with stats including things like average pots, players per flop, hands per hour and of course the stakes and table size.

The game playing itself is what you would expect at most poker sites. The colours are a little dark for me, but some people may like that. Also, being used to Pokerstars the buttons can take a bit to get used to, but just think of all those fish you are going to go after.
