Live: RAKE-FREE & other WPT tournaments

While I didn't have the time to organize a BAP before my WSOP trip where I cashed in the top 0.7% of the 4,193-player field (won 15 times my buy-in), my next $10,000 in MTT buy-ins will include two WPT UK events with over $4 million guarantees (overlay last year) and WPT Valkenburg. Here is an online article about me -
Meet The People: Bingo Buddy.

For every >=5% - $550
For every 1% - $115
For every 0.25% - as low as $30 for sweat equity plus free poker swag!

=============================================================

Details:

A bunch of members have already paid over $1,000 for a share of the winnings in my next ~$10,000 in MTT buy-ins, which I plan to include the following:

1) WPT Valkenburg (Netherlands) Main Event, Day 1A, October 1 - €750
WPT National Valkenburg

2) WPT500 UK, £1,000,000 guarantee, starting on October 26 - £550.
3-6) Up to 4 more flights (out of 12) to make Day 2 if necessary - £2,200.
£1 million guaranteed WPT 500

7) WPT UK Main Event, £1,000,000 guarantee, November 3-7 - £2,200.
£1 million guaranteed partypoker WPT UK Main Event

If I end up not playing some of the above, then I will let you know of the substitute events I will play to total close to C$10K (including events back in Canada such as WPT Montreal), and you will have an adjusted percentage of the actual total buy-ins I play. AFAIK, there is no withholding in any of the events I will play. While I try to maximize EV on the poker table, I will also try to post multi-media updates during breaks on my Facebook BAP group, including the new Royal Flush Girls, the best looking female dealers I have ever seen (Dusk Till Dawn), partypoker hostesses, and the Player Parties.

Payment can be made by Monday, September 28 when I will be leaving for the Netherlands via: in person at OPT this Saturday, EMT, Paypal, or partypoker. I have received more poker swag from WPT festivals than I can personally use, so if you will be at any of the live poker rooms I play (OPT, WPT Montreal/Fallsview, Rama, GBH, Brantford or Woodbine), you can also request a poker hoodie, hat, chip or anything else from Europe and I will try to give it to you. I have the given the following to members and friends in the past year: four WPT hoodies, eight autographed WSOP collectible comics with Negreanu on the cover, FHM Philippines collectible edition with two Royal Flush Girls, WPT patches, sweatshirts, caps, and chips from Europe.

  • You know they don't serve alcohol on Sundays in Georgia.

    BTW...welcome back.

I may check out WPT Montreal for once.

Not only do they serve lots of alcohol seven days a week in TBILISI, Georgia, their national drink called chacha is even free at the Chacha Tower!

The forum member who was supposed to fly with me to rake-free WPT Tbilisi may have to go back to work right after WPT UK, so who wants to go for free vodka?

  • Bought %.50 of action, Shipped on Party.

Can't go wrong with the free swag on-top of the action.

(my preference is a hoodie or sweater this time. got more t-shirts then I can count!)

    GLGLGL, Ship it!
  • Updated OP with more forum members.

Last year's WPT500 UK had less than the number of entries required to cover the £1,000,000 guarantee. This year, the buy-in has been increased to £500+50 and Pokerfest has been postponed to be at the same time as WPT500, so there will probably be less entries to contend with for the same £1 million guarantee, i.e., more +EV.
  • I will take a size L in hodie and 1% of a million you are going to cash
  • The forum member is now unlikely to go to WPT Georgia so it would be too expensive to travel on my own, and I will likely skip Georgia. To replace the Georgia tournaments with U$125,000 guarantees, I now plan to play the WPT UK Main Event with £1,000,000 guarantee. So I will take up to four shots in the two UK events with guaranteed prize pools totaling over C$4 million! I will update my OP (and the Facebook BAP group) later.

Thanks for long sleeve Party Poker shirt Blondefish!!!

  • I was asked what the estimated first place and players may be, whick kickstarted me into poker analysis mode. Both WPT UK events had overlays last year, and have a good chance of being +EV overlays again this year.

    1) WPT500 UK 2014 fell short of the 2,223 entries needed to meet the £1 million guarantee. There were a total of 2,133 entries (including same-day re-entries) paying £450 + £50 each. A lady won the first place prize of £140,000, which is currently worth ~C$284,000.

This year, the casino implemented my suggestions of having a higher buy-in of £500 + £50 and having only next-day re-entries (instead of terrible same-day re-entries as recently introduced by partypoker). Pokerfest has been postponed to October 25 - November 8, which is now in direct conflict of the October 24 - November 8 schedule for UK's biggest poker festival. Since the UK is partypoker's biggest market, both Pokerfest and the UK festival will be hurt since ~2K players will play less online and/or live.

Less re-entries, higher buy-in and Pokerfest will make it difficult to get the 2,000 entries required this year and avoid another overlay.

    2) For the Main Event last year, 354 entries paid £2700 + £300, short of the 371 players required. A non-UK player won the first place prize of £200,000, which is currently worth ~C$405,000.

Ben "KidCardiff6" Warrington was the runner-up, but has since been disgraced as one of the many cheaters in poker. :'( The buy-in has been reduced to £2000 + £200, but with so many festivals, only next-day re-entry, Pokerfest, WPT500, High Roller and other bankroll-draining games going on, it will be very challenging to get the 500 entries required to stop the casino's reputation as "The Home of Overlays!"
Thanks for long sleeve Party Poker shirt Blondefish!!!

  • I guess no tax on winnings in the UK? How much did you get your flight for? I find the airport taxes are especially high in London.
  • Can't wait to rail and sweat :) size Xl

None, AFAIK, unlike the US 30%+ tax. That is why the US is the last country in the entire world that I would want to buy into a tournament.
How much did you get your flight for?
If I told you, DirtArse will kill us both! :wink2:
  • Good luck BF in WPT London!!! And thanks again for PartyPoker hat and WPT pin!
