A lot of them are, but doesn't mean they are any good.
For 5NL, they are not essential at all and did good at that level w/o it.
Just regular ABC poker is good enough and just bet for value all the time. No tricks involved.
NL $5 on PS is a very tough game and I doubt many here can beat it over the long term. HUDs are more important if you are 12 tabling, you are better off just 2 tabling and paying close attention to what your opponents are doing. HUDs can help you find fish but they won't really help you profile your opponents and know who is on tilt and likely to spew off a buy in.
i don't know if i understand this....if you start with a 20 dollar bankroll and finish with 25...did you beat the rake.....or do you have to subtract the rake from that total?........
cause coming out profitable....cannot be said to be tough.....

Long run dude.
rake is like 10% to max of what, like 2.50? haven't checked this in a while.
either way it's ridiculously high.
Even at 1/2 where the cap is $5 (for live) it's pretty high. Say you get 30-40 hands per hour... Casino is taking $150-$200 per hour.
Basically teh equivilant as if there was no rake, but instead every hour the casino drew a name from a hat, and that person loses their stack. People would be much more angry about this.
at 5NL, you manage to get a 400bb pot, win, and you only get 360bbs back... thats pretty huge.

There might be sites that charge this much but the standard online is 5%.
In a 400bb pot the rake should be 20bb. I don't know what it is at casinos but I'm pretty sure its higher like 10% or so.
I actually wasn't sure what the cap was on pokerstars - couldnt remember if it was $2.50 or $3.00 so I went online and checked. Turns out for 25nl and down the cap is now $2 for tables with 5-10 players, $1 for 3-4 players and .50 for heads up.
